[Review] Baek Ah Yeon - A Good Girl

This is my favourite recent release so I thought it'd be good to do a review of the whole mini.



Release date 19th June '13. There's 5 tracks including one featuring Jia from miss A and one featuring Bara from B1A4.

Now I want to talk a bit more about A Good Boy. You can see in the MV (linked up above) Ah Yeon has a few outfit changes (which adds to my feeling that they want to market her towards women and girls). Then, the look she's had going on in the performances is cute and works with this summery theme. You could say it's cutesy, but I think the strength of her vocals and the composition counteract that. Not sexualised, not cutesified, but just a beautiful slice of pop? What a breath of fresh air.
Her rookie-ness still comes out sometimes when she's on stage. Nevertheless, there's a lot of choreography and interaction with the dancers going on during these performances. She'll be a more assured and confident performer by the end of this promotional cycle, you can count on that.

So, from Ya, who has seen little reason to pay attention to Baek Ah Yeon until now?
